The
Brazilian Ministry of the Environment and Fundação
Biodiversitas invite federal, state and municipal governmental
institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations, social movements
and indigenous communities, the academic, scientific and
private sectors to join efforts to build and implement the
Brazilian Alliance for Zero Extinction - BAZE.
OBJECTIVE
The Brazilian Alliance for Zero Extinction - BAZE - intends
to join technical, scientific, financial and political skills
from Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations, both
national and international, to conserve and recover the
species listed in the Official List of the Endangered Brazilian
Fauna and Flora Species. Aligned with the Brazilian Constitution
and the Convention on Biological Diversity, among other
legal documents, the Alliance is an attempt to conserve
the Brazilian Biodiversity to our present and future generations,
reaching for the 2010 goals to significantly reduce the
current rate of biodiversity loss.
